Senator Genevieve Whitaker, JD, MPM, MCJ.  is the CEO/President/Owner and Lead Consultant for The Whitaker Consultant Group, LLC (WCG).  President Whitaker has over 24 years of experience in legal research and nonprofit administration and management, serving on several nonprofit boards in the Virgin Islands and the U.S. mainland. President Whitaker is also a trained lobbyist. As it relates to President Whitaker’s experience in grant proposal writing, she supported securing an essential grant for a Nigerian/U.S.-based nongovernmental organization’s Inaugural Youth Development Program through her research, writing, and consultation efforts held in Abuja, Nigeria (2008). President Whitaker is a certified grant writer with extensive training in nonprofit law. President Whitaker has a vast network of contacts in the legal arena, which spans the globe, and she is a member of critical entities such as the American Bar Association. t. She holds several Executive Education certificates in leadership, one from the Said School of Business at Oxford University and four from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, earning her Certificate in Executive Education, Public Leadership.  President Whitaker is a 2016 United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent Fellow, having been trained in the mechanisms of the United Nations human rights systems, with experience in advocating at the national level to include but not limited to, representing the Virgin Islands at the 2017 United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent, Second Regional Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland and has submitted in 2019 what is known as a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Report on behalf of Virgin Islanders concerning the mistreatment under the U.S. flag during the 2020 UPR period for the United States.
